STYLE GURU STYLE: Shearling Darling

My fall wardrobe staples consist of black leggings, black riding boots, cream sweaters and cozy beanies.  However certain occasions, especially around the holidays, call for fun additions to make my boring everyday look more festive.

Inspired by Lanvin’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection,  I decided to mix some fur into my wardrobe with some ’70s-inspired accessories.  For the collection, Lanvin revealed fur-lined coats paired with vintage-inspired prints and accessories. To make this look my own, I opted for a faux fur-lined vest.  The vest gives me the hint of fur to make my outfit more fun, but it’s not as extravagant the jackets in Lanvin’s collection.  Next I added a vintage-inspired horn necklace to add some more texture to my outfit.

A little faux fur and few accessories can update basic wardrobe staples. For my outfit, I wore my basic black leggings, cream Free People thermal and my black Steve Madden riding boots.  I topped off my look with my black “faux fur pom beanie” hat from Topshop.  To spice up my look, I threw on my shearling vest from TOBI and my chain necklace with a horn pendant.

If worn right, faux fur can make an outfit perfect for a holiday brunch or snowy afternoon. The best way to show off your faux fur style is over basics like leggings or jeans and a classic sweater. Finish it off with some winter knits, like a scarf, or with some trendy jewelry, and you’ve got my look.

Get My Look: 1. Any cozy sweater. 2. A faux fur or shearling vest. 3. Statement jewelry.
